On Chocolate Chip Cookies
Somehow, these cookies have been comfort food for me, and perhaps the reason why I try to have a stock of 'em at home, so I can grab a bite whenever there is a need to....hahaha....It not just eases my hunger, it also makes me feel relieved whenever I am down and blue. Every bite of it soothes and relaxes me...and for reasons I could not explain--it makes me feel better.
Perhaps that's the magic of these cookies...it gives you a rush bite after bite after bite, making you forget your heartaches, and your diet..hahahaha..but I guess that's exactly my point-these cookies make you feel so good, that you do not feel guilty adding up calories into your already plus size body....[call that, reasoning for over stuffing..but come on, get real....I know you've had episodes like these in your lives:)]
Of Plastics and Rubbermades
I've had my share of pretentious people in the number of work places I've been to. It seems like, even when you are nice and try to make friends with everyone, still there are people who would talk bad behind your back. Those who are laughing and joking with you, but are making out issues about you when you're not together. Get real!n If you don't wanna be friends with me tell me straight. You don't need to charm me with your so-called nice attitude when in fact you don't like me...I wouldn't mind staying away from you....Geez...that felt good....I'm able to blurt it out....Now, let me have a bite of my choco chip cookies.... :)

An Orange Mind???
I would have accepted me being "green minded", but orange???? That was my reaction when I took up this quiz emailed to me by a friend called "what color is your mind" - initially out of sheer boredom and to fight my already drooping eyes......hahaha....But when I read the result I couldn't help but agree....And I'm like - guess, there's such a thing as an "orange" mind….hahahha....check this out!
Your Mind is Orange |
You are usually thinking a mile a minute, and you could be thinking about anything at all. Your thoughts are often scattered and random - but they're also a lot of fun! You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about esoteric subjects, the meaning of life, and pop culture. |

For my "Favored One"
I would have wanted to tell you this face to face but that would be hard, since we never knew each other. The first time I saw you walk inside our Political Science class, my world literally STOP. I never knew what hit me, but I knew from that day I was hooked on you. I was silently cheering for you during your soccer games, campaigned for you when you ran for Student Council and I was there when you performed during your finals in P.E. A day in the university would never be complete without me having a glimpse of you - in the cafeteria, covered walk, practicing soccer or walking through the parking lot. You cannot imagine how happy I was when I checked your midterm exam during our class and I know somehow, you became familiar with me because of that. Needless to say you have made college life more exciting until you migrated to the U.S. You probably would ask how I knew, but I've got some very reliable sources. While it was sad not seeing you often in school, I have learned to live with it....Before I knew it, I have already graduated from college.....And did I forget you...I wouldn't say Yes....Coz even when I never saw you anymore, deep within me I was always yearning to find out how you have been after all these years.....And I found you..on one of the social networking sites.....I saw you have beautiful kids - 2 boys, who looked just like you and was I jealous?....I just wished those little boys were mine...but they could never be....I'm glad that I get to see how you never changed a bit, the way I saw you the first time some 10 years ago except for the hair....which is shorter now and looks good on you. I could wish for us to be friends at least..but we are not.. we were just classmates back then, we had our own group of friends, I just happen to have the biggest crush on you and for now...I'll just keep enjoying this wonderful feeling everytime I think of you... :)

Happy Father's Day!!!
THROUGH THE YEARS - this Kenny Rogers song speaks about all the times that he's been with you..while most people associate this song for love, a father's love is still the greatest which is well described here.
FATHER AND SON - Cat Stevens classic. This is a conversation between a father and his son, the advice a father gives and a few apprehensions from the son. Shows a typical father and child relationship.
DANCE WITH MY FATHER - Luther Vandross remembers the days gone by through this song. Remembers the times he spent with his father when he was younger.
MY DAD - Paul Peterson sings what kind of a father his dad is and how much he loved him. It's a classic yet I love the lyrics. Very heartwarming.
YOU'RE MY HERO - This Teresa James song recounts the earlier days of being daddy's little girl- always safe in his arms.
SING ME YOUR SONG AGAIN DADDY - One of the many beautiful Jose Mari Chan compositions. This is a girl's way of letting her father feel how much he has been a pillar and source of strength in her life.
DADDY'S GIRL - Emilia sings a tribute to her dad.
And my all time favorite Papa song is .......
LEADER OF THE BAND - always makes me cry everytime I hear this. This is a song about all the hardwork a father does and how he had to forego some dreams to survive and how music plays a great part on their lives. The ultimate "I love you, Pap" song.
Happy Father's Day to my friends RB, Wins..to my friend G's hubby Jorge, to Roberta's hubby Daddy J, to my bestfriend Chi's hubby Zands, Tess and Oli's husbands Pao and Jonathan, to Sam and my cousins and my uncles.

Tagged!....=)
The rules are:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Go to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.
So now I have with me the nearest book I can grab - Laurie Graham's Gone with the Windsors - the book my sis is currently reading and I have yet to start..hahahahaha
Page 123 has only 4 sentences coz it's the end of that particular chapter so I'll go to the next page..

My Favorite Led Zeppelin
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.
Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my.
An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.
And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad, happiness....I'm glad.
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.
Dial *77
This was an email forwarded by a friend. Felt it is a must-read especially in times like these when we don't know how safe we are on the road. Here's hoping this would be of use....
I knew about the red light on cars, but not the *77. It was about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. *Lauren's parents have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road , but rather to wait until they get to a gas sta! tion, etc. * Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called * 77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars near where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he h ad back up already on the way. Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her along with the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes, including previous Impersonating an Officer charges. I never knew about the*77 Cell Phone feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe &quiet place. You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them (i.e. put on your hazard lights) or call *77 like Lauren did. Too bad the cell phone companies don't generally give you this little bit of wonderful information. *Speaking to a service representative at BellSouth Mobility confirmed that *77 was a direct link to state trooper info in all states. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about *77.
Weddings Etc....
The cake artist..She has been creating beautiful cakes since 1998. She considers every cake a personal project. Except for a few assistants, she designs, bakes and delivers the cakes herself.
Marta's Cakes is owned by Marta Matute. She has nicely crafted wedding cakes and I instantly love her cake made out of chocolate sticks and had white roses and the Moroccan theShe just have an eye for intricate details - you should check out her fashion cakes which are in shapes of flip flops, bags, make up.
Cake designer and pastry chef Heny, she has created cakes for famous personalities yet she still manages to make each creation unique. She also hold baking and culinary classes.
Out of the hobby of Penk Ching and sister Shen Ratilla, came Pastry Bin, a name synonymous to one-of-a kind cake. Their cakes are designed based on the client's persona and who would forget their ever famous pillow wedding cake and the cake which they replicate a Vietnamese tradition for a couple who spent their lives in Vietnam. It's on the cover of their book Caked in Sugar.
Alex Franco would probably be my most favorite of all. Homemade cake is what they call his work and it does not only look good, it tastes very good as well. No artificial cakes for this guy and he said "Our passion is excellence in creation".

From a friend:
Guess what she meant by '710'?---->
Bloopers 101
In a recent job interview, the interviewer asked me if I can elaborate more on the operation I had back in high school. So I went on and said, it's a cyst. It's "in-grown"....err...."inborn"..sorry....In my mind I was laughing but I continued telling her my story....@
We went on an island getaway a few summers back, and we decided to take a luxury ship for adventure We were assigned to two different cabins and one time, some of our friends visited our cabin for pictures and a few chit chat. I was tasked to take their picture, then just as I was about to click....the bed where my friends were posing, dropped.....it literally fell down and so did my friends....@
At work, my colleague was on break and was sitting beside me, listening to my calls..for about 15 minutes. Then it was his time to log. And his first call came and he went with this spiel "Good Morning this is Cherry"....in his very low voice...Apparently he has not gotten over my spiel....hahahahha....
