Google and Olympics

The 2012 Summer Olympics opening was a spectacular creation documenting (others say story telling) UK's transformations to a very progressive country that it is now. It also was a showcase of UK's famous citizens who has made great contributions in film - James Bond/Daniel Craig and Mr.Bean, to literature - lines from William Shakespeare's "The Tempest" were said, and to technology and health. The lighting of the Olympic Cauldron was simply breathtaking. Truly word class.

And Google, is also into the Olympic fever too. Their webpage features Olympic games, which I find cool and fancy. Just like this.

Nice, noh? Today, it's fencing that they are featuring.

Missin' the 5th Graders

The past year I have been hooked on the show "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" on the country's local station Q, and I have learned to love these oh soo cute class - -----

Marki Laura Alana

Spencer Jacob and my favorite of all - Kyle.....

....and last night, the episode was called "Graduation Night"....It's the last time that my favorite class is gonna stand on the podium and help grown up American answer 5th grade questions. Who would have imagined that there's more to this kids brains than their funny antics....Witty kids, I should say.....and who can forget Kyle's mis spelled but correct answers, as what Jeff always points out - " this isn't a spelling contest so it's ok".... or Spencer making fun of his answer Delaware, he added this question "what did dela wear?".....hahahha.... or the enthusiasm and encouragement that these kids would show the contestants....They are just wonderful! During their graduation night, these kids were given savings bond for what they have done...It was soo touching to see their bewildered and happy faces, hearing the news and how they hugged Jeff, as if they were his kids....What more can I say??? I'm definitely gonna miss these 5th graders....and yup...I am such a fan.....

.....I'm still gonna catch next weeks show though, their introducing a new class...... :)

On HOUSE and Grey's Anatomy

I never imagined I could stick to too much drama on t.v. until I started watching Grey's Anatomy. Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens , George O'Malley and Alex Karev are medical interns trying to make it good in the toughest surgical residency program and juggling their own personal trials as well. What made me glued to this show is it's ability to show the realities of life-and how each one of the characters were able resolve or address their own issues. Watching the scenes sometimes I can relate to it and I'm like --"oh, I've been in that situation".... I felt the pain, the happiness and the suspense that the show brings to the audience.
HOUSE was a different story. This got me glued to the show and to Hugh Laurie as well. I was never a Laurie fan until House came and he was just sooo believable playing the anti-social, pain killer addict, witty and arrogant medical doctor Gregory House, sporting his jeans and cane. He specializes in diagnostic medicine and would do whatever it takes to solve puzzling cases that come his way using his team of medical doctors and wit. This show is great and has a very good team of scriptwriters as well. Dr. House, carries the show yet , his team of doctors - Chase, Foreman, Cameron add dimension and depth to his character. This show not only showcases the wisdom and arrogance of House but it also showed his humane side -- specially in matters of the heart. Dr. James Wilson and Lisa Cuddy are witness to it. Very House, very cool. I am soo diggin' this show.
